Today I had a phone appointment with Kelly Dorfman, a nutritionist recommended by Kristina, the gorgeous Emma’s mom. It was quite interesting. She explained to me how supplements work to “supercharge” pathways that are dormant or not entirely functional. You target a pathway, figure out what chemicals it needs to function properly, and mega dose the chemical so that you get the pathway functional. I was impressed with her knowledge. Here is what she recommended for Nathan:
L-carnitine
Paracetam
Phosphaline or Phoschol
B1
B2
B3
Biotin
Vitamin E
She explained that the carnitine and B vitamins are for low tone, and the paracetam and phospholines are for motor planning.
She reviewed Nathan’s nutritional supplements and was happy with everything he is on, but she wanted to complement it with the ones mentioned above. Here’s what he’s currently on:

She also recommended a formula to help Nathan gain weight:
14 ounces of calcium fortified almond milk
2 ounces of unsweetened coconut milk (in a can)
1 scoop metagenics ultra-care 4 kids
If you have a child on pediasure or one of those formulas, you might want to give this a try. It’s like a protein shake and she mentioned that each ounce has about 30 calories and it is a very complete form of nutrition.
I am going to take this list to Dr. Kenny so we can muscle test the supplements and dosages.
I am so pleased that we have another awesome member on board Nathan’s team!
Thats exciting! I LOVE our nutritionist. She was able to accomplish what the GI dept. Cook’s couldn’t. I also can’t say enough about coconut milk-its the bomb!
Glad you found the consult productive. We’ve had Emma on the drink you described above for a while and LOVE the change it’s had on Emma.
I’m just wondering how you are going to get all these supplements into Nathan in one day. We are using 4 supplements and that’s pretty much all I can handle getting into Emma right now!
