The other night I woke up in the middle of the night to find myself humming, humpty dumpty sat on a wall, humpty dumpty had a great fall, all the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn’t put humpty together again. It took me several days to understand the significance of this waking dream.
Even after realizing that all the kings horses and all the kings men can’t put Nathan’s brain together again, deep down I still remember that other voice from another dream saying, “Give the dendrites time to grow.”
So we got trained in ABR, got the hyperbaric chamber, and pursued the nutritional training.
Now, today, we have all the pieces of the puzzle.
Yet all this week I have found myself looking at all the pieces of the puzzle and wondering, now what? What is more important? How do we fit everything into a day? How de we prioritize them all?
Today I received the final missing piece of the puzzle that will make it all come together. Napacenter.org had an open house / seminar with a group of professionals. They had a team from the Australian Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential, a nutritionist, a functional neurologist, and a tomatis therapist giving small lectures and Q&A sessions. And it was AMAZING.
All of these professionals agree that our children need an intense, highly individualized and holistic approach to their health and wellness. They all agree that nutrition is first and foremost, and that the kids need stimulation at various levels. Each of them believes that there are many things that can help children, and that parents should craft an approach that is best for their individual children.
What blew me away is that what I saw validates exactly what I’ve been trying to do, which is pull in various modalities into one protocol that supports Nathan’s development at all levels – biological, cognitive, emotional, social, etc.
You know how people say that if you put it out there, the universe, or God, will answer? Well it blows me away how true this is. I put it out there that I needed help integrating all of the pieces of the puzzle into a cohesive daily routine. And now I found the people that can help me do that and I am stoked!
Chad and his dad Tim Timmermans will be coming to see Nathan on Monday and will evaluate him in his home environment and give us a plan. This will be similar or idential to the Reach program, except they will be able/willing to help us integrate other therapies. THey think ABR is great and Hyperbarics, and believe that nutrition is crucial, so since we’ve already got all of these elements plugged in, they will give us exercises from their program and help us create a daily schedule.
Anyways, I am thrilled, excited, and so happy to have found help.
I will share more about what I learn from all these people in the coming week as we will be scheduling appointments to see all of them!
